1890 Movie vs History

Exhibition „1890 Movie vs. History"

The exhibition has an ambition to continue the movie, which has been filmed in the chateau Betliar.
The main task of the exhibition is to be a partner for the movie and explain how life looked like on the turn of the 19 th and 20 th century.
The most valuable exhibits will be the jewels of Countess Františka Andrássy, her completely restored dress, accessories as handbags,
parasols and first of all the unique mourning dress made of black silk, specially made for the funeral of the Empress Sisi in 1898.
The 19th century art will be represented by valuable poster of Alfonz Mucha, masterpieces of Ladislav Mednyánszky or famous French sculptor August Rodin.
The second half of the 19th century is typical for many inventions and technical achievements.
Visitors can admire one of the first bicycles, radiators, telephones and cameras owned by the Technical Museum in Košice.
The exhibition will last until 30th September 2017
