From the History of the Orthodox Church in Slovakia – God, Strengthen Us

Slovak National Museum – Museum of Ruthenian Culture (SNM – MRK) in Prešov is preparing an exhibition From the History of the Orthodox Church in Slovakia – God, Strengthen Us. The opening will take place on June 11, 2020 (Thursday) at 4:00 p.m. in the Museum of Ruthenian Culture (Masarykova 20, Prešov). The exhibition will feature religious books published by the Orthodox Church from the 17th to the 19th century, liturgical robes of important ecclesiastical personalities as well as icons from northeastern Slovakia from the 17th to the 19th century and parts of the iconostasis from the now non-existent village Ruské in the Snina district that are administered by the Orthodox Church Community in Snina. The author of the exhibition is Mitr. Prot. Prof. ThDr. Milan Gerka, CSc. – Rector of the Orthodox Priestly Seminary of the University of Prešov in Prešov. The opening of the exhibition will take place with a limited number of visitors due to the currently valid hygiene measures and regulations of the Slovak Republic in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. .pdf (PDF, 1,8 MB)
