Dear visitors,

to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Slovakia, we close all our specialized museums by March 23, 2020. We believe that you will appreciate our step to help protect the most valuable things we all have – our health. And that you keep our favor. Please take care of your health these days. We look forward to you (we believe) after March 23, 2020 Of course, we will inform you immediately about the reopening of the museums.

Slovak National Museum

Castle and museum is standing above the eponymous town Modrý Kameň (Blue Stone), five kilometers from the district town of Veľký Krtíš. The ruins of a Gothic castle is visible from the main roads leading from the south. If you are coming from the north side (from the Zvolen), turning to the castle it is right at the beginning of the Modrý Kameň town. There are are two access communications to castle. Near the museum there is a parking, also suitable for buses.
