Life in Castles and Forts
from 1. 3. 2024 to 31. 8. 2026

The exhibition presents everyday life in castles and forts through archaeological finds. Visitors will learn information about the architectural development of castles, their defensive function, economy, craft production and trade on individual estates, and livestock breeding. It also introduces the running/course? of a noble court—kitchen operations, dining, clothing (including jewellery), leisure (toys and games), as well as healing practices and objects related to faith. The exhibition is complemented by aerial footages of several castles, documenting their current appearance. The historical state of Korlátka Castle in the 17th century is illustrated by a scale model at 1:72.
