Treasury
The Treasury is a vault or room where jewels and precious items are stored. The Treasury space at Bratislava Castle showcases silverware that is among the most attractive items in the collection of precious metals at the Slovak National Museum - Historical Museum. Reflecting the stylistic orientations, period tastes, and aesthetic demands of the time, it represents the artistic and craft skills, taste, and sensitivity of goldsmiths. It documents the diversity and ornamental richness of styles, the complexity of goldsmithing techniques, and the aesthetic requirements of patrons.
The exhibition in the Treasury features exceptional utilitarian objects, primarily used for dining, along with decorative or representative works, mainly from Slovakia, Austria, and Germany, dating from the 17th century to the first half of the 20th century.
