The Slovak National Museum edits a variety of publications with the aim of informing public about role and tasks of museums while preserving and presenting cultural heritage. To accomplish this objective, it publishes program bulletin twice a year along with two specialized magazines – quarterlies Pamiatky a múzeá (Sights and Museums), revue for cultural heritage and Múzeum (Museum).

Publications of individual specialized museums of the Slovak National Museum date long back, too. Their mission is to present results of scholarly activities in Museum’s proceedings. They are published by specialized museums of the Slovak National Museum and more information can be found on individual web pages of particular museums under Publications. On occasions of distinguished exhibitions, the Slovak National Museum publishes various catalogues; children at exhibitions are being guided by children’s guides, work sheets, etc.
