Collections

At the time of its inception, the Museum of Carpathian German Culture did not own any collections. However, thanks to intensive collection-building activity, the number of collection objects reached 6,500 items in 2020.

The collections cover all areas of life of the Carpathian Germans: clothing components, textiles, home and craft production, industrial products, works of art, sacred objects, printed materials. The Museum of Carpathian German Culture curates compact collections of stoneware from Kremnica, enamelware from Matejovce, filigree from Spiš and works of fine art by contemporary self-taught artists. The collections also contain originals and copies of documents related to the history of the Carpathian Germans.
