Collections

The collection’s holdings in Myjava are primarily related to the history of individual Slovak National Councils, personalities of Slovak history and the emigration from the region of Myjava. The holdings also include ethnographic collections, collections documenting regional guilds and crafts, clothing, textile, cultural history and fine arts in relation to the presented personalities and artists of the region. The collection item number 1 is the so-called Hurban table, at which the First Slovak National Council met for the first time in the territory of Slovakia on 19 September 1848. Other important exhibits are documents regarding the revolution of 1848/49, e.g. the original of the arrest warrant for Štúr, Hurban and Hodža, or the passbook of the widow Anna Koléniová, which also contains her signature.
