Music Museum

Museums scientific and research activities are oriented on addressing themes of basic research related to the orientation and specialization of this museum with an emphasis on the scientific processing of its collections.

Certain research assignments are conducted in cooperation with other institutions such as the Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University and the Institute of Musicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, which work on the joint external research task entitled “Z dejín slovenskej hudby” (From the History of Slovak music). Slovenský katalóg hudobných prameňov (The Slovak Inventory of Musical Sources) in connection to the RISM International Inventory of Musical Sources, is a long-term joint research task of all expert museum workers.
