About the museum
The historic house on the square, whose oldest known owner was Master Pavol, features an exposition dedicated to the life and work of this exceptional late gothic craftsman. The exposition documents his most significant work in the form of facsimiles, whose originals are located in the Basilica of St. James in Levoča and cathedrals across Slovakia. The photographic and factual materials describe the fate of the master’s life. Visitors can get a closeup view of the famous “Last Supper” from the tallest Gothic altar in the world, the main altar of the Basilica of St. James and sculptures from the Altar of the Nativity, and the Altar of the Four Saint Johns and many other interesting works of art.
