Dr. Vladimír Clementis – Writer, Lawyer and Politician

The introduction to the exposition in the birth home of Dr. Vladimír Clementis features a description of his personality and background – his native village, family, wife, friends, classmates and hobbies (photography and hiking). Vladimír Clementis was successful in politics as a defender of leftist ideas. From 1948 to 1950 he was the minister of foreign affairs of the Czechoslovak Republic. In one of the fabricated political trials, which shook Czechoslovakia in the 1950s, he was found guilty of “conspiracy against the state” and was executed. The conclusion of the exposition presents Clementis as statesman, diplomat and victim of a criminal show trial.
