Jewish Swimming (R)Evolution
from 19. 5. 2023
This new exhibition is a continuation of the successful cycle of exhibitions about significant athletes of Jewish origin. It presents the history of organized swimming within the Jewish community in Slovakia from the foundation of Bar Kochba Bratislava, one of the most successful swimming clubs in the first Czechoslovak Republic, up to restoration of the Jewish sporting tradition after the fall of the totalitarian regime in 1989. The exhibition presents inspirational, famous and lesser-known Jewish swimmers, who frequently despite difficult living conditions, accomplished exceptional success in their sporting and personal lives.
Prepared by the Slovak National Museum – Museum of Jewish Culture with the support of the Slovak Swimming Federation.
